Local authority and urban practitioner perspectives on risk reduction since 2015: Recommendations for a mid-course correction

Source
United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR)

This is the voluntary contribution of the local authority and urban practitioners for the Midterm Review of the Implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 (MTR SF). This report presents an analysis of the perspective of local authorities and urban practitioners on disaster risk reduction since the start of the Sendai Framework for Action in 2015.

It synthesises inputs received from local authorities and urban practitioners with a view to producing actionable recommendations on the specific theme of urban resilience. In particular, the analysis report aims to provide insights on the state of the evidence on urban resilience and local-to-national integration efforts as a means of maintaining or achieving resilience against a backdrop of numerous systemic risks in addition to geopolitical, environmental, societal and economic uncertainties.
