The report ‘Global Food Systems - Understanding Risk, Transforming towards Resilience’ has been prepared as thematic study in support of the Midterm Review of the Sendai Framework to generate greater insights on food system risks and resilience. It provides a synthesis of the state of the evidence on risk informed sustainable food systems and includes actionable recommendations for policy makers to align policy and practice for more sustainable food systems. Insights from the report provide an avenue towards reducing risk and building resilience aligned with the priorities for action of the Sendai Framework.

The report has greatly benefited from expert consultations with representatives from academia, private sector, international organizations and civil society.
